This is where our collaborative efforts came into play. Our estimator, project manager, superintendent, and foremen worked together to bring about a new software solution that maximized communication within our organization.We broke down each zone in our estimating system, allowing us to generate material purchase orders for submission. We utilized Assignar software to transmit communication from the client and disseminate it among the field leaders. Assignar was updated at the end of each shift, which automated material orders and generated text messages to the entire crew, informing them of their next-day facility assignments.Assignar proved pivotal in aiding our superintendent to move craft among the facilities by grouping them according to their specialties. For example, our specialty graphics team was deployed as needed to meet schedule demands. Our superintendent would assign this team for an upcoming duration, automatically triggering a notice to the respective facility foreman. This foreman would then ensure obstacles were cleared before the specialized team arrived.This level of collaboration essentially turned into pre-task planning a week before the work started. Moreover, the collaboration flowed in the opposite direction as well, with foremen requesting specialized crews through Assignar based on the general contractor's area superintendents' unpublished schedule needs. Furthermore, when additional scopes were added to the contract, our Project Manager would upload the change order takeoff drawings along with the material purchase orders into Assignar giving the field management team immediate access to the additional work so that our Superintendent and facility foreman could pre-plan the additional work. In the end, it was a resounding win for Team PPC as we delivered three projects in one, all on time.
