Oak Harbor Clean Water Facility

Industrial and Water Treatment

This phased project replaced two outdated wastewater treatment plants with a modern, LEED Silver-certified facility. Work included coatings and equipment across six buildings, 4,500 SF of fiberglass linings in basins, and 17,000 SF of epoxy coatings in tanks. The team completed 9,737 hours and applied 4,800 gallons of paint with zero safety or quality incidents. The new plant is built to last 50 years.

Challenge

Managing an exceptionally high water table—particularly during winter—resulted in water intrusion into concrete structures, disrupting both the construction schedule and installation sequence

Solution

Applied moisture vapor-retarding coatings to counteract seasonal high water table pressure, enabling construction to proceed while effectively addressing water intrusion along perimeter walls.
